Trauma Therapy

I believe in the inner strength within us all to recover from painful life experiences.

I have had the honor of dedicating my career to working with survivors of abuse and trauma. I feel privileged in my work to be a guide and support in my client’s healing. I believe in the inner strength within us all to recover from painful life experiences. Therapy is a means to better understand trauma reactions while learning ways to manage the negative effects of trauma, and ultimately, experience relief.

I provide several trauma-focused evidence-based treatments, including child parent psychotherapy (CPP), trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) and child and family traumatic stress intervention (CFTSI).

I have a particular expertise working with young children and their parents/caregivers who have been impacted by trauma and abuse. It can be extremely difficult for parents to feel equipped with how to best support their child after scary and distressing events. I am a firm believer in a parent’s/caregiver’s role as their child’s primary guide. I know that parent want what is best for their child, but sometimes may not have the words.

I partner with families to strengthen or repair the parent-child relationship; increase pleasurable moments between them; finds developmentally appropriate language to talk/play out the difficult situation they have been through.
